Innovation Officer of Acumen).
Acumen is a global venture fund that was founded in 2001 and is a pioneer in the social impact investing space. Acumen invests capital in businesses that are delivering affordable products and services to the poor, and has invested more than 97 million in 90 companies across Africa, Latin America, South Asia and the U.S.
In 2015, Bain Capital announced that it is launching a new fund led by Deval Patrick to focus on delivering attractive financial returns by investing in projects with significant social impact. The fund is called Bain Capital Double Impact Fund and is in the process of launching.
