John Shin joined Bank of America Merrill Lynch in 2008 as a senior G10 FX strategist. Prior to joining Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Shin was a G10 FX strategist at Lehman Brothers in New York. Beyond his role as a strategist, he was a U.S. economist on the Lehman Brothers Global Economics Research team. Shin was also a postdoctoral research fellow at the National Bureau of Economic Research in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and worked at the Federal Reserve Board in Washington, D.C. in their Macroeconomic and Quantitative Studies Section. He holds a Ph.D. in economics from Harvard University, where he was a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellow; and a B.A. in economics with High Distinction from the University of California at Berkeley.
