
Roy Locke, is a Managing Director in the Transaction Risk Group of Marsh USA, LLC where he assists private equity clients and their portfolio companies as well as strategic acquirers in procuring the best insurance solutions to manage transactional risk in M&A transactions. Prior to joining Marsh, Mr. Locke worked as a Senior M&A Underwriter at American International Group (AIG) insuring the representations and warranties of sellers (for the benefit of either Buyers or Sellers) in their respective M&A transactions. Prior to AIG, Mr. Locke worked as an attorney at Goodwin Procter LLP in the firm’s Private Equity Group, where he advised various private equity funds on their portfolio company acquisitions and divestitures.
Mr. Locke received his J.D. from New York Law School where he was an associate editor of the New York Law School Law Review and a Justice John Marshall Scholar. Mr. Locke graduated from Fordham University, College at Lincoln Center, where he received his Bachelors in Political Science. He has previously served as the General Counsel for the Metropolitan Black Bar Association (“MBBA”) and has held board positions on various non-profit organizations, including the MBBA, Practicing Attorneys for Law Students Program, Inc. (“PALS”) in New York and Youth Development Initiatives, Inc. (“YDI”) in Charlotte, NC. Mr. Locke received an award for excellence for his services on the Board of YDI, a Charlotte, NC based non-profit organization devoted to working with at-risk youth in the areas of education and life skills.
Mr. Locke has spoken at various conferences and panels regarding transactional risk insurance including the American Bankers Association, the Atlanta Bar Association, the ACG LA Transactional Risk Symposium, the Thompson Reuters Southeastern M&A Conference and at various law firm CLE presentations.
