Overview
Keith R. Phillips of the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas
What’s the outlook for the Texas economy in 2019? Ask Keith Phillips, senior economist and research officer at the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas.
At the end of 2018, says Phillips, economic conditions in Texas began to slow with the decline in oil prices, the rise in uncertainty about the global economy, and the possibility of a US recession. According to Phillips, the three primary factors facing the Texas economy in 2019 remain historically tight labor markets, lower oil prices, and continued uncertainty about trade restrictions. However, the forecast has improved since January, and it looks like 2019 will be a good year for Texas, even if it’s not quite as strong as last year.
Join Keith Phillips and ACG Central Texas to learn more about what’s ahead for the Texas economy—and what that means for your business’s growth in 2019 and beyond.
