We're partnering with ATC and Tech Bloc for a special lunch in in the heart of the Texas Innovation Corridor focusing on “Growing Tech Opportunities Along I-35”. Our panelists will include Terry Zrubek, Deputy Executive Director, Economic Development & Tourism Office - Office of Texas Governor Greg Abbott, Harold Strong, Executive Director of STAR Park at Texas State, & Ileana Gonzalez, CEO of Tech Bloc. Thom Singer, CEO of ATC will moderate and this event is sponsored by Dykema.

Early Bird Reg. Rates available through Thursday, January 16th: ACG Members @ $60./Non-Members @ $95. Late Registration Rates begin on Friday, January 17th thru 5PM on Tuesday, January 21st (or until we sell out): ACG Members @ $70./Non-Members @ $105.

Location: Holiday Inn San Marcos, located @ 105 Bintu Dr., San Marcos, 78666. Free parking is available onsite.

Attire: Business or Business Casual. 

Dietary Restrictions - While some dietary restrictions are based on medical conditions, allergies, or religious convictions that must be strictly observed, others may be based on personal preferences. It's important to differentiate between the two to ensure we address everyone's needs appropriately. Please ensure any dietary requests that are submitted are based on restrictions and not preferences.

Cancellation Policy – Cancellations received in writing to acgasa@acg.org by Thursday, January 16th will receive a full refund. There are no refunds for cancellations received after Thurs. Jan. 16th. If you are an ACG Member unable to attend, you can transfer your registration to another person for this same event. If the person attending in your place is not an ACG Member, they will need to pay an additional fee to bring them up to the non-member rate to attend.   

ACG Austin/San Antonio reserves the right to fill open seats at the respective event venues once the networking period has passed and the official event programming has begun. In rare instances this could mean that registered attendees arriving late will not have a seat readily available upon their arrival. In these instances ACG Austin/San Antonio will work to accommodate the attendee, and if not able to do so to the attendee's satisfaction, ACG Austin/San Antonio will refund their registration fee.

Your registration for this event acts as an audio/video release and includes your permission for ACG Austin/San Antonio to use your image and comments captured on audio, video or photographic formats while attending the event for marketing and promotional purposes.

Terry Zrubek

Deputy Executive Director

Terry Zrubek is the Deputy Executive Director of Texas Economic Development & Tourism (EDT), within the Office of the Governor. EDT markets Texas as one of the world’s premier business and travel destinations. As Deputy Executive Director, Zrubek supports Executive Director Adriana Cruz in overseeing multiple divisions including Business & Community Development, Economic Development Finance, Tourism, Texas Workforce Investment Council, Texas Music Office and the Texas Film Commission. Previously, Zrubek served as the Director of the Economic Development Finance division, overseeing the division’s three main areas of financial incentive programs: grants, loans and tax rebates. These programs total more than $1 billion dollars in state and federal money.

Terry has a degree in economics from Texas State University, a Master of Business Administration from St. Edward’s University, with a concentration in corporate finance, and has completed the Governor’s Executive Development Program at The University of Texas at Austin L.B.J. School of Public Affairs.

Executive Director

Harold Strong has a distinguished career in driving innovation, commercialization, and entrepreneurship within research park environments, advancing life sciences, technology, and workforce development initiatives.

In executive roles at Texas A&M University and the University of North Texas, Harold led the development of research facilities and technology transfer programs that fostered university-industry partnerships. He also brings deep expertise in real estate development and public-private partnerships (P3), having expanded Texas A&M’s research park and managed incubation spaces for commercialization projects.

As Executive Director of STAR Park at Texas State University, Harold oversees development at the San Marcos and Round Rock campuses, strengthening Texas State’s position in technology commercialization and industry collaboration. By establishing collaborative programs, fostering industry consortia, and managing physical assets, Harold significantly contributes to Texas State’s R1 classification goals.

With leadership experience spanning private and non-profit sectors, Harold combines strategic vision with practical expertise in business development, workforce programming, and technology-driven economic development.

Ileana González is the CEO of Tech Bloc, leading San Antonio’s tech community. With 7 years of experience in startups and venture capital, she excels in scaling businesses and fostering collaboration among tech companies, startups, and institutions. Before Tech Bloc, Ileana was a Venture Associate at Techstars, connecting pre-seed startups with investors. She holds a BBA in Entrepreneurship from UTSA, where she also served as Student Body President. Passionate about tech and community building, Ileana is dedicated to elevating San Antonio as a leading tech hub.
