NEW YORK, December 9, 2008 – The latest twice-yearly survey of middle market merger professionals by the Association for Corporate Growth (ACG) and Thomson Reuters reveals the most negative outlook in the history of the survey, with 86% of dealmakers saying the current M&A environment is fair or poor. The percentage of those who say the current deal environment is good or excellent has fallen to 14% in December 2008, from a high of 93% in June 2007. The percentage has steadily dropped to 72% in December 2007, and to 43% in June 2008.

ACG DETROIT RAISES $5000 FOR WINNING FUTURES

ACG Detroit hosted its 3rd annual Mingle Bells event, Tuesday, December 9, 2008 at Glen Oaks Golf and Country Club in Farmington Hills, Michigan. The Chapter raised $5,000 for Winning Futures (www.WinningFutures.org). Based in Warren, MI, Winning Futures was formed in 1994 and since that time the nonprofit organization has operated school-based mentoring programs for over 15,000 students and provided over $1.4 million in scholarship monies. The mentoring programs focus on life skills, goal setting and strategic planning.

ACG Detroit raised the money for Winning Futures through its Mingle Bells’ sponsors Dickinson Wright, PLLC, Hennessey Capital and PNC Business Credit plus donations from attendees for the event. To date, ACG Detroit has raised more than $10,000 for a variety of charities through its Mingle Bells event.
